Bodega Dunes Campground

Bodega Dunes Campground is located beside Bodega Harbor, within walking distance of ocean beaches and the town of Bodega Bay. The campground is part of Sonoma Coast State Park. Nearby Bodega Head is a popular place for whale watching during the winter and spring months. The ocean here is too dangerous for wading or swimming. Quail can be seen skittering around the area.

Bodega Dunes Campground has 99 campsites for RV camping and tent camping. The campsites are among the dunes, just inland from the beach. The campground provides hot showers, flush toilets, and an RV sanitation dump station. Reservations are available and strongly recommended.

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.

Key Bodega Dunes Campground Regulations

  1. Dogs must be on leash, always attended. Dogs are not permitted on most trails. They must be kept in a vehicle or tent from 10 PM to 6 AM.
  2. Obtain firewood locally to avoid bringing in pests.
  3. Fires are allowed only in established fire rings or camp stoves. Fires are not permitted on the beach.
  4. Quiet Hours are from 10 PM to 6 AM.
  5. Generators may only be operated between the hours from 10 AM to 8 PM.
