Castaic Lake Campground
Castaic Lake Campground is in the Castaic Lake State Recreation Area, north of Los Angeles. The recreation facilities are operated by the County of Los Angeles. Visitors to Castaic Lake enjoy waterskiing, wakeboarding, boating, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding.
Castaic Lake Campground is on the west shore of Castaic Lagoon, just below the main lake. The lagoon is open to paddle boats such as canoes and kayaks. It also has a dedicated swim area with lifeguards, open in the summer from Thursday through Sunday. Castaic Lake Campground has 65 campsites. Some of the sites are designated for RVs or trailers only, others can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Campsites are rather close together and many campsites have limited shade. A 2-night stay is required on weekends; 3 nights on holiday weekends.

Castaic Lake Group Campgrounds
Group camps at Castaic Lake are for organized non-profit groups such as Scouts or church groups. Maximum vehicles length is 30 feet. Check-out time is 11:00 AM.
Fees: $50 per night + $1 per person, per night. Vehicle entrance fees are extra.
Group Camp Hideaway
The Group Camp Hideaway on the northwest end of the lagoon can accommodate up to 50 people and 10 tents. It is a tent-only campsite; RVs and campers are not allowed.
3 Acres Group Camp
3 Acres Group Camp is located at the southwest end of the main lake. The campsite has a maximum capacity of 300 people. The campground is designed for tent camping. RVs and other vehicles must remain in the parking areas.
Overlook Group Camp
Overlook Group Camp is located on the southern end of the lagoon, overlooking the water. The camp can accommodate up to 100 people. The campground is for tents only. Vehicles are not allowed in the campsite.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.
